The Kanji – For the Rest of Us system is organized into three sections: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

K-FRU: Beginner contains:

  • 500 of the most useful and necessary kanji for beginner-level students.
  • Every kanji needed for the first two levels (N5 & N4) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
  • One sentence to help you remember each kanji.
  • ON & KUN readings for each kanji.
  • An in-depth introduction that explains how to use the system.

The content within Beginner has also been divided up into five eBooks (eBooks 1 – 5), each containing 100 kanji. If you want to try out the method, eBook 1 will give you a taste of the system with the first 100 kanji. When put together, eBooks 1 – 5 have exactly the same content as K-FRU: Beginner; however, purchasing K-FRU: Beginner gives you the ability to jump quickly between all 500 kanji and their parts when you want to reference them.
